Grouting is considered a skillful job. For a pleasing result when laying tiles, in addition to the right product and application, the suitability of the grout color to the surface is also important. In this article, we will share information that will simplify your work when choosing grout colors.
No matter how high-quality and beautiful tiles are, if the grout is not applied in the correct color, an unsightly appearance can result. Previously, white and beige colors were mainly preferred for grout. However, over time, the variety in tiles also led to the production of grout in different colors.
Grout color selection based on what?
Usually, when choosing a grout color, one of the colors in the tile is selected, or, on the contrary, a grout material in a contrasting color is chosen. If you want the tiles you are laying to stand out, contrasting colors can be used; if you want a natural, delicate look, grout in lighter colors from the tile can be applied. For a different design, a grout color that is not present in the tile can also be chosen. For example: while gray grout is considered a good choice for black, beige tiles, beige, green, cream-colored grout is inappropriate.
Grout colors according to tiles
For simple, white tiles, it is advisable to use beige, champagne, cream, and gray grout. For patterned, white tiles, applying cement gray grout will allow the patterns to stand out. On the contrary, if you want a simple and plain look, then white grout can be used.
For gray tiles, gray grout is advisable. If you want the grout lines to be visible, you can apply dark-colored grout (e.g., dark gray) for decorative purposes. For striking grout lines on dark gray tiles, lighter gray or white grout choices are more suitable.
ATTENTION!
It is more advisable to choose the grout color when purchasing the tiles. This method will simplify your work regarding color harmony between the grout and the tiles.
