Painting with spray paint is easy, fast, and fun. Unlike other types of paint, there's no need for time-consuming and labor-intensive steps like adjusting the solvent ratio for thinning or choosing the right roller or brush. However, to achieve satisfactory results when painting with spray paint, it's important to pay attention to a few details.
Pay attention to these points during application
Although there are different types of spray paint available, many have the same application and drying time. Before applying spray paint, the surface must be cleaned of dust, dirt, grease, and rust. If necessary, a primer should be applied to the surface. Before application, shake the paint can for 2-3 minutes to ensure a homogeneous color. Spray the paint onto the surface from a distance of 20-25 cm. If the distance between the surface and the paint is too great, paint loss may occur; if it's too small, the paint may run. The drying time for spray paints is usually 10-15 minutes. However, if you are not completely sure the paint is dry, it is advisable to wait for half an hour. Since some substances in spray paints emit a strong odor, their use is recommended outdoors or in well-ventilated areas. If used indoors, wearing a mask is necessary.
Where can spray paint be used?
For best results, it's important to choose spray paint appropriate for the surface. For example, for metal surfaces, it's suitable to use rust-protective and cellulosic spray paint. For home painting projects, acrylic-based spray paints are the most suitable. With acrylic spray paints, which have a wide range of uses, it's easy to paint surfaces such as wood, plastic, metal, concrete, etc. (You can use Dukes spray paints.)
